Aural Haematoma is a blood-filled subcutaneous fluctuant swelling on the pinna that can occur when there is traumatic rupture of the capillaries, together with the separation of the auricular cartilage from the skin. The external ear would then look “puffed up”. Repair of the condition involves creating a drainage point on the ear to drain the blood out and stitches around the pinna to repair the auricular cartilage.
