DEBRIDEMENT AND STITCH UP
This surgery would be performed if there is an open wound that requires it to be closed to prevent it from getting infected. The wound will be debrided of any dead and/or infected tissue before it can be stitched up.
A herniation is the abnormal exit of tissue or part of an organ through the wall of the cavity that it normally resides. The most common types of herniation found in pets would be umbilical (around the umbilicus area or underside just below the ribcage), inguinal (at the inguinal canal or inguinal ring located around the groin area)and perineal (around the pelvic region). If the protruding tissues or organs get compromised of blood supply, it would be considered a strangulated hernia and surgery must be performed as soon as possible.
The complete removal of a lump or growth from the body. There would be a margin around the growth that would be removed together with it to ensure complete excision of the growth.
